John McWilliams’ passion in the practice of law is legal writing. John’s earliest legal mentors helped him to focus his practice on his passion for writing, but more significantly, these mentors demonstrated the importance of being honorable members of the bar. The lessons from John’s early mentors have echoed through his career and are reflected in his approach to legal research and writing: honesty about case prospects and diligence in obtaining the best possible outcome.
John naturally serves as the go-to writer at Gross Welch Marks Clare. John writes for all stages of litigation, from motion practice to appellate briefing. He also writes for nearly every practice area that Gross Welch Marks Clare offers, including personal injury defense, estate disputes, family law, and business litigation.
The passion and diligence reflected in John’s legal writing appears in all aspects of his life. In his free time, John prepares complicated desserts and dabbles in artistic hobbies that require precision and focus. Even so, John finds time to relax with his wife, daughter, and pack of rescue dogs.
Before law school, John completed a Master’s degree in English, and he would almost certainly be teaching today if he were not practicing law.
