Timothy J. Buckley graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications in 1988. Tim later graduated from Creighton University School of Law in 1996. Prior to graduation, he worked as an intern for the Honorable Theodore L. Carlson, District Court Judge in Douglas County, Nebraska. Mr. Buckley then worked as Law Clerk to the Honorable C. Thomas White, Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court.
He also served as a Deputy Douglas County Attorney in the office’s Civil Division, where he advised the county’s elected officials and department heads on numerous legal issues and represented the county in litigation involving real estate valuation, personnel matters, inheritance tax determinations, mental health commitment hearings and tort claims. Tim’s areas of practice focus on estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianships and conservatorships, municipal law, civil litigation and appeals. He previously represented the cities of Bellevue and Fremont as a city attorney.
Tim is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska and has been admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
He also is a member of the Omaha Estate Planning Council, has been a member of the Offutt Advisory Committee and sat on the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee.
In his free time, Tim enjoys traveling with his family and getting in a round of golf.
